Eight Spiritual Truths for Total Wellness
Healing means to make whole. As we journey through life, it is inevitable that we will face a wide variety of physical and mental challenges that we can’t predict or prepare for in advance. In the hectic pace of life we will often find “quick fixes” in the short term and for the most part, go on ignoring the tell tale signs that signal something is amiss. As we continue ignoring the beginning signs of illness or disease because we don’t have time, the body begins to break down even more and we find ourselves deeper in this “zone” of health threat. Quick fixes and short-term solutions leave us feeling empty and unsatisfied and will not provide our bodies with the power to heal that will serve our health and wellness in the long-run. What is truly essential is that we learn to listen to our bodies and take a time-out to discover how we got here in this “zone” of health threat. It is critical to healing and health to know how to take time to bring balance and wholeness back to our life situation.
As the famous poet Rumi says, “We already have the precious mixture within ourselves to heal we just need to use it.” To heal is to become “whole,” or at one, mind and body with our own inner wisdom that is already alive and well inside of us once we learn to listen.
