Feed Your Fire: The Secret to Self Healing

The 5 Elements of Practice

Why would anyone want to heal unless they are ill?  Does everyone have some component of their being that needs to heal?  Does healing imply that there is something wrong?  Why do we sometimes associate a negative connotation with healing?  Let’s look at what it means to heal.

To heal means to make whole - to restore all functions to operate in full balance and potential.   The ancient healers were also associated with being holy or spiritual men and women, since in order to heal, one must be connected to the infinite source of existence.  So, you can see both go hand in hand.  Although few recognize the power and potential of healing and spirituality, many do indeed want to find that place of wholeness and holiness within their own lives.  Healing may indeed indicate that there is something amiss or out of sync. But let’s face it how many people don’t need a little bit of adjustment to balance out their life?

One of the key ingredients to finding that wholeness or holiness within is to feed your fire.  What is this fire?  This fire is the intrinsic intelligence that leads us to having will power and focus as well as inner peace. It is indeed the core essence of inspiration.  Fire is also the element in nature that is responsible for converting matter into energy or our thoughts into action, our actions into will.

It is also responsible for assisting us in becoming whole and complete so that we may then serve humanity.

From a practical view, to create a new pattern of living, we are required to erase the patterns that have caused our energetic chaos (mind-brain software) or start another energetic pattern that will over ride the old software.  Most find it easiest to override they old system and upgrade to a newer version.

How do we do that?  The simplest way is to work with daily habits like our diet, sleep cycles, thinking processes, relationships and associations.  Over time a new pattern will emerge and take over or as I mentioned over ride the old stuff

To accomplish this we must upload some skills and then practice on our new software how to navigate to the inner most source of hour healing potential.  One of the ways to do this is to practice meditation and those tools that support the lifestyle of the practice.

There are 5 elements of practice that are useful to those wanting to embark on a new course of action.

The 5 Elements of Practice

A practice is just that. It changes as you begin to change. It is not static; but something that vibrates according to where you are at the time in your life – your physical condition, your emotional state, your thinking and the status of your attitude toward life. So keep in mind that a practice is subject to change.  Although subject to change keep in mind that it does require stability and solidarity, which can be acquired by choosing the same time each day to practice.

The five elements include doing something for:

·      Posture - it can be stretching, yoga postures. These will change over time because your body will adapt and improve with consistency.

·      Breath - this will also change because as your practice continues over time the breath will become more steady and perfected.

·      Relaxation - again this will also change. You may start with a body scan but over time you may prefer something more in depth like the point –to- point practice.

·      Focus  - here you can start with the breath and over time use mantra.

And do something to maintain your mindfulness concentration – this again will develop the more you practice. You may start on thoughts, but over time you will surpass the thoughts and become mindful of the space beyond the thought.

Combining these elements with specific tools in each category guarantees that you will create the wholeness that is required to be happy and healthy.
