Detox Your Mind
I remember a teacher telling me to count how many times a day that I got disturbed and that would indicate just how strong or weak my mind is operating. Disturbance whether it be fear, fatigue or frustration plays havoc on your body and brain, not to mention your mental stability.
One of the most profound impacts on our brain and body is the quality of our thoughts. Studying your thinking process will help you to understand what makes you happy, sad, confident, fearful or any other emotion that you may experience. In turn, you begin to understand what makes your world manifest as it does.
Most of my clients as well as colleagues, tell me that they find themselves flooded with thoughts leaving them tired and basically, wiped out. When they skillfully learn to watch their thoughts, they become aware of what types of thoughts are flooding their mind. They are amazed when they start to recognize how these thoughts ripple into an emotion and sometimes even an action. Over time with practice; they report to find more joy and less agitation with life.
There are three steps to help manage your mind so that it works in your best interest. The first, be aware of how much sensory input that you entertain. For example, what do you feed your mind by way of relationships, movies, music, activities etc.? The next step is for you to be aware of what you assimilate and utilize from that input. So here you can see how important it is to have positive and nourishing input. The third step is how much of your input do you eliminate? Many have a challenge at this stage due to not being able to let go and move on from the perceived insults to their ego or regrets from the past.
The solution to managing your mind is to let go or detox. When you let go what you don't need, you create space for energy and clarity. Detox begins by learning to be aware of thoughts, words and actions or what may be termed mindfulness.
Being mindful allows a person to be aware of their thoughts and also to select what thoughts are allowed to color their inner world - a useful skill to cultivate. By taking it to the next level and refining it as suggested here, one finds themselves with more energy and the ability to complete projects that may have been abandoned. Acknowledging what to be mindful of and letting go of what you don't need will enrich your life and nourish your soul.
Learn to Detox Your Mind so that you will have the space to utilize what you need and eliminate what you don't need. You will be amazed how your life will transform and how you can remain joyful even during uncertain times.
