Finding a source of balance is the key to life. If you want
to build a balanced life you need inner strength and focus. If you want to live
a more fulfilled life, first you will want to know who you really are. The
mission of Dr. Susan Taylor and The Center for Meditation Science, Inc. is to advance the knowledge of mind/ body
medicine and healing through educational programs that utilize the Center Axis® philosophy.
The
Center Axis ®
philosophy integrates modern scientific approach, nutritional
biochemistry, exercise, systematic relaxation, breath training,
meditation science and belief to enhance the natural healing capacities
of body and mind. We use the word
"synergy"
to describe the principles of Center Axis® philosophy, because it is the
combination of more factors working together that produces the desired
effect- the center axis - which is greater than the sum of the efforts of
the individual components.
The Center Axis® philosophy takes into account that each of us has a
unique point of balance which is based on our biochemistry, psychology
and physiology and that physical health is influenced by thoughts,
feelings, and behaviors, and conversely, thoughts, feelings, and
behaviors can be influenced by physical symptoms. Experiences, Social
factors and the environment around us are important as well.
Reducing stress through meditation techniques, developing flexibility,
energy and endurance through yoga and exercise, and improving vitality
through nutritional biochemistry are a few of the basic approaches of Center
Axis ® Philosophy.
